## Scope

This study examines visibility in organic web positions for commercial services in Venezuela. Eight service categories and two commercially oriented queries per category were defined, then repeated for Caracas, Maracaibo and Barquisimeto. The final dataset covers 48 queries and the first 10 organic web positions for each query (480 positions). Collection date: September 2, 2026. Google Search context: Spanish language (hl=es), Venezuela country setting (gl=ve). Ads, maps/Local Pack, AI Overviews, People Also Ask and other non-organic modules were excluded.

## Units, classifications and denominators

A phase 1 observation is an organic position, **not** a company, person, business or unique domain. Result types are owned_business_website (the provider's own website), social_network, directory_marketplace, media_content, government_association and other. Each query contributes ten positions, including repeated URLs. Percentage = count / denominator × 100, rounded to one decimal place. Category totals are 60 positions each; city totals are 160 each; the overall total is 480. Do not average aggregate percentages without weighting by their denominators.

Phase 2 audited 104 unique provider-owned URLs observed in phase 1. Two did not render completely. On-page measures use n=102 extracted pages, while Lighthouse measures use n=97 complete sets of four scores. Seven records indicate a successful Lighthouse run without complete scores; they must therefore be excluded from Lighthouse metrics.

## Public files and data dictionary

- indicadores.json: metadata, counts by city/category/result type and aggregated technical measures.
- posiciones-agregadas.csv: scope, segment, result_type, count, denominator, percent.
- auditoria-agregada.csv: metric, numerator, denominator, percent.

The count and numerator fields contain aggregated observations; denominator identifies the population used to calculate each percentage. The scope field identifies total/city/category. Segment names and labels are analytical categories, not website names. Source segment values remain in Spanish in the shared data files; the English page translates service-category labels for display.

## Issues and limitations

One position retains the provisional classification “other” pending manual review. One URL appears in two positions within the same SERP, and both positions are counted. During quality control, Barquisimeto replaced Mérida. The data are a snapshot and do not measure the national proportion of business owners with a website, search volume, conversions, revenue or content quality. A city named in a query represents geographic intent, not a verified provider location.

Individual records, titles, snippets, Google screenshots, observed URLs and identifiable third-party audits **are not included in the download**. The statistical documentation derives from Libertatis Venezuela's original study; CC0 is not claimed to cover third-party elements or contractual rights of the source platforms.

## Provenance and reproducibility

The counts were checked against the private original copies of `venezuela_service_search_baseline_2026_serp_480.csv` (480 positions) and `venezuela_service_search_baseline_2026_website_audit.csv` (104 URLs). SHA-256 fingerprints of the verified material: SERP `2358c634a8b261f2691f0df5a3b81332481376d5563276a7a02b97f5b7704a7d`; audit `91248445fa521fa965db7052ca92c170bf5e1dde1dbffeb4036eac070e42176a`. Those sources contain third-party material and are not distributed by this website. Public reproducibility of calculations from the original rows is limited while the inputs cannot be redistributed; this package supports checking that published aggregates add up correctly and that formulas and denominators are explicit.
